Security Engineer II at fabric

We are looking for a Security Engineer II to join our team in a full-time capacity. At fabric, we are building the next generation of commerce platforms to help businesses deliver world-class shopping experiences. Founded in 2017 by industry veterans, we aim to bring the technical rigor of Amazon to the retail sector, supporting major brands like Chico’s and Brooklinen. Responsibilities

• Collaborate across our engineering, IT, and operations teams to embed security best practices directly into our software development lifecycle and overall system architecture.
• Design, deploy, and manage centralized security tools and controls to monitor our infrastructure, while automating security integrations within our CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct thorough security reviews, vulnerability scanning, and risk assessments to identify threats and partner with stakeholders to implement effective mitigation strategies.

Requirements

We are seeking a senior-level professional who brings a deep understanding of application security and a hands-on approach to technical challenges. You should possess the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in security engineering or application security, ideally within the e-commerce or web application space.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with AWS and its security tools.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
• Strong working knowledge of OWASP and NIST security frameworks.
• Proven experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD processes, and tools like Jira and Jenkins.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to report security metrics to executive leadership.
