The role

We are searching for a Senior Search Architect to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. In this position, you will serve as the technical lead for our search initiatives. You will take ownership of our technical direction, guiding projects from the initial ideation phase all the way through to final deployment. You will collaborate closely with both business and technical leadership to ensure our search capabilities remain a core pillar of our growth.

Core responsibilities

• Lead the technical strategy and execution for our search platform projects.
• Design and implement scalable, highly available distributed systems capable of managing significant data volumes.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in software engineering and a deep background in search technologies. We require the following qualifications:

• At least 4 years of professional experience working with Java and web services.
• At least 4 years of dedicated experience within the Search domain.
• Hands-on expertise with Elasticsearch or Solr Cloud.
• A deep understanding of information retrieval concepts, including linguistic processing like stemmers, spellers, and tokenizers.
• Strong command of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and multi-threading.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bonus points if you have experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Cassandra, or Spark.
