SDET – Game & Platform at SHRAPNEL STUDIO

What is this role?

This is a full-time, senior-level position for an SDET focused on both our game and platform. The role is based in the United States and follows a hybrid work model.

What will you do?

• Identify, design, and deliver technical solutions such as frameworks, tests, API hooks, and tools that increase test effectiveness and coverage while lowering the cost of test execution.
• Implement metrics, analyze test data and results to identify patterns, report on risk status to development partners, and influence overall software quality.
• Mentor engineers and analysts, provide technical guidance across teams, and maintain regular collaboration with technical leads, development teams, and product owners.

What makes you a great fit?

We value diverse perspectives and welcome candidates from all backgrounds. You bring strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python, along with JavaScript/TypeScript and Unreal Blueprints. A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience supports your five or more years of work as a QA engineer, SDET, software engineer, or similar role with a focus on quality. You are an expert in testing practices including regression, acceptance, functional, and load testing, and you have experience building automation frameworks, test harnesses, and QA-focused tools. Performance and stress testing, CICD pipeline solutions, and work with 3D game engines such as Unreal and Unity are all part of your background. You have developed across web, PC, mobile, console, and backend platforms, collaborated within agile and waterfall methodologies, and guided teams in setting and executing strategic goals. English is the primary language for this role.
