OptionMetrics is a New York-based leader in financial research and data, providing critical analytics to over 350 global institutions, including hedge funds and investment banks. We are looking for a Mid-Level Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our team and help us build the next generation of financial data products within our entirely cloud-based infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain applications using Ruby on Rails, Python, and Java.
Collaborate with our product and operations teams to design and implement high-quality software solutions.
Utilize cloud-based technologies to ensure our platforms remain scalable and performant.
Troubleshoot production issues and perform necessary debugging.
Maintain clear documentation for our code, internal processes, and technical procedures.

Must-haves

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with Ruby on Rails, Python, or Java.
Proven ability to develop within Ruby on Rails frameworks and their associated libraries.
Direct experience working with Heroku environments.
A solid grasp of web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, alongside database systems such as SQL and PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with Git for version control and experience working within agile development teams.
Fluency in English.
