Welcome to Promaxo. We are a fast-growing company focused on medical imaging, robotics, and artificial intelligence, and our mission is to redefine the standard of care for patients everywhere. Founded in 2016 and based in Oakland, California, we have developed an FDA-cleared, compact MRI platform that brings high-quality diagnostic technology directly into outpatient settings. With a portfolio of over 230 patents and a dedicated team of innovators, we are working to improve the patient experience from initial screening through to treatment. We are looking for passionate, creative people to join our diverse team as we continue to expand our reach, including our growing presence in international markets.
What is this role?
We are looking for a Mid-Level RF Electrical Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. In this position, you will play a vital role in the development of our next-generation point-of-care MRI systems. You will work closely with our mechanical, electrical, and software teams to create sophisticated medical devices that have a real impact on patient lives.
What will you do?
- Design and construct new RF magnetic field sensor coils specifically for our MRI applications.
- Develop schematics and manage PCBA layouts using Altium Designer or similar software.
- Perform hands-on lab work to bring up, test, and optimize your designs through circuit analysis and component selection.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should be a resourceful problem solver who enjoys building projects from the ground up. We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least two years of relevant R&D lab experience, or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of RF circuits and sensors, including matching networks, phase shifters, RF/MW antennae, or MRI RF coils.
- Experience with RF low noise signal amplifiers and RF power amplifiers.
- Proficiency with standard RF test equipment, such as network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and function generators.
- A solid grasp of RF electromagnetic fields and antennae theory.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage tasks effectively to meet project schedules.
- Fluency in English.
What's in it for you?
Joining Promaxo means becoming part of a diverse and collaborative environment where your contributions directly influence the future of medical technology. We value innovative thinking and offer the opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems that are changing the way physicians manage patient care. You will be part of a mission-driven organization that supports professional growth and values the intersection of engineering excellence and clinical impact.
