Role at a glance
We are looking for a Senior Research Scientist to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is a high-impact position for an experienced researcher who is ready to lead the charge on alignment and post-training techniques for our large-scale diffusion models.
Your impact
- Lead research initiatives focused on alignment and post-training methods to ensure our video models are high-quality, reliable, and strictly adhere to human intent.
- Architect and deploy supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) pipelines to refine model outputs.
- Build and maintain robust evaluation frameworks that measure safety, quality, and model alignment across our production systems.
What you'll need
To succeed in this role, you should be a deep thinker with a strong technical background and a passion for responsible AI development. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related field.
- A proven publication record in top-tier conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR, specifically within reinforcement learning, alignment, or generative models.
- Extensive hands-on experience with PyTorch and large-scale distributed training systems.
- Deep expertise in reinforcement learning, particularly RLHF, and a strong foundation in software engineering for complex, shared codebases.
- Fluency in English and the ability to communicate intricate technical concepts to cross-functional teams.
- Experience with diffusion models, human feedback data pipelines, and perceptual quality metrics is highly desirable.
