We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist / AI Engineer to join Pelago, a travel experiences platform backed by the Singapore Airlines Group. We function like an interactive, bookable travel magazine, and we are searching for someone who is eager to help us innovate and grow our global footprint from anywhere in the world.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance our LLM-powered travel assistant to handle customer inquiries effectively.
- Create and refine travel itinerary products using advanced LLM capabilities.
- Optimize the performance of our AI tools through prompt tuning, workflow creation, RAG optimization, and response parsing.
- Assess various public LLMs to determine the best fit for our specific use cases based on cost and performance.
- Collaborate directly with our engineering and product teams to design and launch new features.
- Utilize vector databases like Elasticsearch to improve how we handle data and search functionality.
Must-haves
- A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in building and deploying machine learning models, specifically with chatbots or LLM applications.
- Practical knowledge of RAG, function calling, Langchain, and RAG evaluation frameworks.
- Proven background in solving machine learning problems related to Natural Language Processing.
- Advanced proficiency in Python with the ability to write clean, production-ready code.
- Solid understanding of core machine learning algorithms, including decision trees, linear regression, and ensemble models.
- Hands-on experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
- Competency in using SQL to query both relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience working with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex AI concepts to diverse team members.
- Fluency in English.
