We are Chelsea Avondale, the world’s most advanced home insurance group. We combine sophisticated risk modeling with proprietary pricing technology to reshape the insurance industry through our research division, Skynet Software, and our insurance provider, Max Insurance. We are currently seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position available to candidates located anywhere. As we experience rapid growth, we need a dedicated engineer to ensure our infrastructure remains secure, scalable, and highly available. We value a hands-on approach and prefer engineers who appreciate maintaining a lean, fundamental technology stack over those who rely on overly complex toolkits.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain robust AWS cloud server environments while ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
- Develop and manage effective monitoring and alerting systems using Python to ensure rapid incident response and system stability.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis, optimize service capacity, and implement disaster recovery solutions that guarantee high availability.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a Reliability Engineering or similar role, specifically focused on high-performance web systems.
- Proven expertise in managing AWS environments, including CloudWatch and EFS.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming.
- Solid experience with NGINX for load balancing and caching, as well as deep knowledge of Unix and Windows server administration.
- A working understanding of web technologies such as DNS, SSL, and web server configurations.
What we offer
We are proud to offer a flexible remote work environment that allows our team members to contribute from anywhere in the world.
