We are looking for a Senior R&D Technician to join our team in the United States and help us revolutionize how magnesium metal is produced. At Magrathea, we are strengthening national security and building supply chain resilience by extracting magnesium from seawater and brines using our proprietary electrolytic technology, supported by major investors and the federal government.
Responsibilities
- Operate and optimize bench and pilot-scale chemical and metal processing equipment alongside our engineers and scientists.
- Manage wet lab tasks, including measuring liquids and solids with precision tools and following established analytical protocols.
- Document your work thoroughly, communicate findings through reports, and prepare feedstocks or product samples.
- Perform essential maintenance on mechanical and laboratory instruments to ensure research facility uptime.
- Work independently using standard operating procedures and provide proactive suggestions for process improvements.
- Uphold strict laboratory safety standards and maintain a clean, organized pilot room.
- Handle physical tasks, such as moving equipment and reagents weighing over 30 lbs.
Must-haves
- Proven experience in plant operations as a technician or operator.
- Strong technical background in lab environments, maintenance, and process optimization.
- Ability to work effectively in English.
- A collaborative mindset with a history of contributing to team success and maintaining a respectful, transparent workplace culture.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to operational reliability.
Benefits
The salary range for this full-time, on-site role is $70,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on your experience.
