About the Role
We are looking for a Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer to join our Advanced Product Research and Development team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site position for a highly technical engineer who thrives on turning bold concepts into reality. You will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding projects from the initial spark of an idea through the prototyping phase and into successful production.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform consumer research and insights into tangible product innovations that enhance the Traeger experience.
- Lead the creation of diverse prototypes, ranging from quick mock-ups to precision builds, to validate design intent and function.
- Apply rigorous engineering analysis, including FEA and mechanical dynamics, to ensure every design is both innovative and manufacturable.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Five to ten years of professional experience in product development, ideally within the consumer goods sector.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software, with a strong preference for SolidWorks, including experience in surface and sheet metal modeling.
- A proven track record of hands-on prototype fabrication using both machine and hand tools.
- Deep knowledge of Design for Manufacture and Assembly principles.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and international suppliers.
