We are Arbol, a global FinTech company dedicated to helping businesses navigate climate risk through our comprehensive, data-driven platform. Unlike traditional insurance models, we provide parametric coverage that triggers payouts based on objective data, removing the need for subjective loss assessments. Our ecosystem is unique because it integrates massive climate data infrastructure, AI-driven underwriting, and blockchain technology to bring transparency and efficiency to the market. We are looking for a Quantitative Staff Engineer to join our team in the United States and help us scale our impact.
What you'll be doing
- You will design, test, deploy, and maintain the algorithms that power our core pricing and risk management systems.
- You will collaborate directly with our insurance and derivatives experts to execute business-critical analytics.
- You will take ownership of our infrastructure, focusing on building, growing, and scaling the systems that support our quantitative operations.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering and quantitative finance. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 7 years of experience with Python and a deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, including version control, design patterns, and CI/CD pipelines.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in quantitative development.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience working with NumPy and Pandas.
- At least 3 years of experience working within the finance sector, with a preference for candidates who have a background in commodities.
- At least 3 years of experience with cloud computing platforms, specifically AWS.
- A solid foundation in mathematics and probability theory.
- Experience with machine learning or deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch is considered a plus.
What you'll get
As a full-time member of our team, you will receive a competitive compensation package that includes equity in our high-growth company. We also provide the following benefits to support your well-being and future:
- Comprehensive dental and vision insurance.
- A 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
- Generous paid time off to ensure you have time to recharge.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every single requirement listed above, as we value diverse perspectives and non-traditional backgrounds.
