Quality Engineer at Percona

We are currently looking for a skilled Quality Engineer to join our distributed MySQL team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the reliability of our software, which includes high-performance versions of MySQL and advanced clustering solutions. You will work alongside a global team of experts who are passionate about open source technology, and you will have the chance to contribute to products that are used by organizations around the world.

What you'll be doing

• You will manage and coordinate the release lifecycle by collaborating with our engineering teams to ensure our software meets rigorous quality standards.
• You will evaluate new features and identify product bugs by executing comprehensive test plans and analyzing the results of automated regression and performance systems.
• You will scale our testing infrastructure and research new strategies or tools to continuously improve our automation processes and scripting capabilities.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in software quality and a collaborative mindset. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: You possess solid Linux system administration skills and experience with automation tools like Ansible, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting and Debugging: You are comfortable using Shell or other scripting languages to automate tasks, and you have a proven ability to analyze logs and debug complex issues.
• Domain Knowledge: You have experience with MySQL or similar database technologies, along with a solid understanding of networking, file systems, and hardware connectivity.
• Collaboration: You are fluent in English and thrive in a distributed, agile environment where documenting processes in tools like Jira is a standard practice.

Bonus points if you have experience with containerization, C/C++ coding, or release engineering workflows.
