Python Software Engineer - Infrastructure Team at Channable

With over 250 team members from more than 40 nationalities, we are looking for someone to join our infrastructure team to help us maintain high engineering standards and keep our systems running smoothly.

Role at a glance

This is a full-time, senior-level position based in the Netherlands. You will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing time between our historic office in Utrecht and the comfort of your home. You will be a key member of our Python Infrastructure team, focusing on the systemic health, reliability, and maintainability of our codebase.

Your impact

• Modernize our legacy code and tackle technical debt through large-scale refactoring and migrations.
• Ensure our API endpoints and background jobs perform at their best while keeping our library dependencies current.
• Collaborate with other development teams to identify architectural opportunities and improve our overall test suite quality.

What you'll need

We are looking for someone who values clean, maintainable code and enjoys solving complex technical puzzles. You should be comfortable working in a team environment and communicating effectively across different departments. Your technical toolkit should include:

• Strong backend development expertise in Python or similar languages.
• Significant experience working with large production codebases and web technologies.
• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Experience with typing (such as mypy or pyright) and a solid grasp of Linux, git, and the command line.
• A commitment to high engineering standards and a desire to leave code better than you found it.
