The opportunity
We are looking for a Public Relations Manager to lead our external communications and media relations efforts. In this role, you will be the voice of Kong, crafting narratives that showcase our thought leadership and the impact of our world-class products. You will work closely with our executive team, marketing, and product groups to manage high-priority campaigns and secure press placements that elevate our brand visibility. This is a unique chance to shape the public perception of a company that is fundamentally changing how software talks to software.
A day in the life
- Collaborate with our marketing, product, and sales teams to identify and develop compelling, newsworthy storylines for trade and business press.
- Partner with our PR agencies to execute high-impact campaigns, manage media interviews, and maintain our editorial calendars and outreach lists.
- Draft a variety of media materials, including press releases, contributed bylines, award submissions, and executive briefing documents to ensure our message is clear and consistent.
Who you are
You are a seasoned communications professional with a track record of success in enterprise technology or cloud-native sectors. You bring the following to our team:
- At least 5 years of experience in PR, with mandatory recent experience working within a PR agency.
- Deep expertise in building and maintaining relationships with top-tier journalists, industry analysts, and influencers.
- Exceptional storytelling and writing skills, allowing you to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging narratives for various audiences.
- Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to juggle multiple urgent initiatives in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
- A data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyze media coverage and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- Fluency in English.
