We are the Southern Poverty Law Center, and we are looking for a dedicated Protective Services Officer who shares our deep passion for social justice. Our organization works tirelessly to combat hate and bigotry while seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of society. What you'll be doing

You will manage access to our facilities and residences by utilizing a range of sensors, detection tools, and tactical procedures.
You will monitor and operate our integrated security systems to identify unauthorized access and potential threats to our personnel.
You will conduct executive protection details during travel and public appearances, while also performing foot and vehicle patrols to maintain a professional security presence.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in security and a commitment to our anti-racist work culture. We are looking for the following qualifications:

At least two years of experience working as a security officer, military personnel, or law enforcement officer.
The ability to qualify with various small arms and long-range weapons.
Proficiency in executing physically demanding defensive tactics.
A high school diploma or GED.
Strong observational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with our staff and guests.
Fluency in English.

What you'll get

For this full-time, on-site position, we offer a starting salary of 45,000 USD per year.
