At Potomac Conservancy we protect and restore the lands and waters of the Potomac River region, and we are looking for a skilled contractor who can help us bring greater clarity and coordination to our planning work.
What is this role?
This is a senior-level contractor position offered on a remote, temporary basis. You will focus on selecting, setting up, and rolling out a project-management and strategic-planning platform that supports our long- and short-term goals and aligns with an Objectives and Key Results approach.
What will you do?
- Meet with department heads to understand their needs for project and strategic-planning tools, then research and recommend platforms that balance functionality, ease of use, and ongoing costs.
- Guide the purchase and configuration of the chosen platform, including migrating existing planning and project data currently stored in Microsoft Office files.
- Create clear standard operating procedures, train staff on the new system ahead of our April/May annual planning cycle, and provide follow-up troubleshooting after the first round of use.
What makes you a great fit?
You bring senior-level experience customizing project-management systems that accommodate both day-to-day work and longer-term strategic planning. Strong command of Microsoft Office is essential, as is fluency in English. You are comfortable working independently in a remote setting, translating complex requirements into practical solutions, and guiding teams through technology adoption.
What's in it for you?
You will enjoy the flexibility of fully remote contract work and the opportunity to shape how a mission-driven conservation organization manages its projects and strategic goals.
