Project Engineer at JaroFleets

Jaro Fleet Technologies is an early-stage startup backed by prominent investors like GGV, Lerer-Hippeau, and Maersk. Led by EV industry veteran Joe Miler, who brings experience from Apple, Lucid, MIT, and Stanford, we are currently in stealth mode. Our mission is to transform the trucking industry by commercializing a unique business model that utilizes renewable energy and commodity EV technology to outperform diesel on a cost-per-mile basis. We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States to lead the construction of our first-in-class truck electrification site.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our leadership team to establish a baseline system design and support the technical roadmap for future deployments.
• Manage the end-to-end vendor selection process, including vetting technical specifications with equipment suppliers and scaling partners.
• Oversee the deployment and pilot testing of high-voltage equipment in the field while maintaining rigorous safety standards and using project management tools like GANTT charts to track progress.

Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals with a deep working knowledge of high-power and high-voltage systems.
• Proven track record of successfully deploying high-voltage equipment in real-world field environments.
• Demonstrated experience working within an early-stage startup, showing the ability to deliver results in high-stakes, rapidly evolving settings.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work with collaborative autonomy to solve complex challenges.
• A self-motivated mindset with the ability to travel for work approximately 25 to 50 percent of the time.
