Your purpose at Copper is to be at the centre of various products and services, orchestrate internal systems, apply your skill and knowledge to establish or maintain our market leadership and deliver on other objectives.
Role Purpose:
The Product Principal will lead the continuous improvement, operation, and support of our Custody, Settlement and Clearing solutions. You will collaborate with our Prime, Reg Compliance, and Internal Products leads, as well as cross-functional departments, to enable the strategic innovation and development of our platform and services.
Key Responsibilities of the role
- Collaborate cross-functionally with revenue, engineering, regs compliance, and other cross-functional teams and align teams on a shared vision and steer execution on that vision (including GTM, operationalisation & support).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, other product leads, strategic vendors/partners, and other cross-functional teams to continuously improves the resilience, quality, and interoperability of our Custody platform.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with compliance and legal to ensure the regulatory compliance of our Custody platform across all relevant jurisdictions.
- Communicate with clients and the organisation effectively. As a high-touch B2B solution provider, we rely on direct client communication for a lot of ideas and feedback we receive on our current and future products.
- Assess potential risk associated with our products, from development through launch and lifecycle management. Implement strategies to minimize these risks to ensure product safety, compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Continually research the industry and the market to ensure that we are building the best in class products and supporting the business with their challenges.
- Understand Copper products exceptionally well and lead discussions with senior stakeholders throughout the business.
- Manage and maintain product and development boards, ensuring the development process is running according to our policies and procedures.
Your experience, skills and knowledge
Essential
- Deep understanding/knowledge of the Prime Brokerage / Prime Services Operating Models and familiarity with financing solutions that Prime Brokers provide to their clients. (the perfect candidate is someone that has worked directly or indirectly with Prime Brokerage units and is familiar with the role they play in Financial Markets).
- Deep understanding/knowledge of the Global Custody / Securities / Post-Trade Services Operating Models (the perfect candidate is someone that has worked directly or indirectly with custodian banks, securities administrators, and/or CSDs and is familiar with the role they play in Financial Markets).
- Experience in a client facing role (preferably liaising directly with Hedge Funds, Market Makers, OTC desks) and is familiar with the activities they perform.
- Previous experience working within a Product leadership role.
- Solid knowledge about product development life cycle and experience involved at various stages including requirement review, UI/UX design, test case review, production support.
- Knowledge of blockchain technology coupled with keen interest in latest developments in digital asset/crypto ecosystem, especially tokenisation.
- Experience with relevant tools, obsession with simple, efficient and straightforward processes.
- Comfortable with making their own decisions and taking on significant responsibility, but not shying away from rolling up their sleeves and doing the day-to-day Product work as and when the hyper-growth environment requires you to do so.
Desirable
- Experience working for a start-up/scale-up, being driven and excited by small teams’ ability to get things done.
- Experience working in operations and/or technology.
