We are Project Kitty Hawk, a nonprofit ed tech organization dedicated to helping the University of North Carolina System increase adult learner enrollment through high-quality online undergraduate programs. We provide our university partners with advanced technology, streamlined processes, and robust student support solutions to help them thrive in a competitive landscape. We are currently looking for a Product Owner to join our team in a full-time, hybrid capacity within the United States.
In this role, you will use your analytical mindset to deeply understand our products and their evolution. You will serve as a bridge between business needs and technical execution, ensuring that our software development lifecycle consistently delivers a top-tier experience for our users.
Responsibilities
- Translate complex business needs into actionable requirements by collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and technical teams.
- Manage the product lifecycle by creating and refining user stories, establishing acceptance criteria, and maintaining the product roadmap within an Agile framework.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing efforts and evaluate system processes to ensure all solutions are feasible, documented, and aligned with our strategic goals.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in product ownership, analysis, or closely related roles within an Agile SDLC environment.
- Proficiency in SQL, business intelligence tools, and data analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Demonstrated experience with UX principles, human-centered design, and technical documentation.
- Strong facilitation skills, with a history of managing vendor relationships and leading meetings with diverse stakeholders.
- Prior experience in the higher education sector is considered a significant plus.
