Product Manager at Recidiviz

Recidiviz is looking for a dedicated Product Manager to join our fast-moving team. We are a mission-driven organization focused on creating safer and healthier communities by improving outcomes for those within the criminal justice system. By building sophisticated software tools and leveraging data, we help justice leaders make informed decisions that safely reduce prison populations. We are seeking someone who can blend technical expertise, strategic thinking, and empathy to develop products that drive meaningful, equitable change.

Key outcomes

• Define and evolve the product vision and strategy for a core area of our platform.
• Coordinate across internal teams, including engineering, design, data analysis, and partnerships, to ensure high-impact delivery.
• Develop a deep understanding of criminal justice data and the complexities of the system.
• Manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ranging from justice system agents to individuals directly impacted by the system.
• Launch new features and products, iterating based on ongoing evaluations of their real-world impact.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in product management.
• Proven ability to build and launch products from the ground up, specifically within a 0 to 1 environment.
• Experience building consumer or enterprise-facing platforms that incorporate developer tools like APIs or SDKs.
• Strong familiarity with cross-functional areas such as engineering, UX/UI, legal, and sales.
• Ability to travel approximately 1 to 3 times per quarter.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A technical background or significant experience working closely with software engineering teams.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience working with government end-users.
• Familiarity with the United States criminal justice system.

Compensation

The salary for this position is $135,000. We maintain standard compensation levels across the organization to ensure equity and responsible resource stewardship. Please note that we do not negotiate salary offers. Our benefits package includes:
