The opportunity
We are looking for a Product Engineering Lead to join our growth product squad. This is a unique role for a senior software engineer who is ready to balance high-level technical execution with people leadership. You will spend roughly 60% to 80% of your time coding and building features, while the remaining 20% to 40% will be dedicated to mentoring a team of three engineers and managing delivery. You will work closely with our product managers to solve impactful problems, helping to expand our community of hiring managers and job seekers through our marketplace, blog, and referral programs.
A day in the life
- You will design, test, and ship high-quality front-end and back-end code to build new features for our users and internal operational teams.
- You will mentor and upskill junior engineers, facilitating performance reviews and driving their career progression within your squad.
- You will collaborate with product managers to assess the feasibility and scope of new initiatives while managing the technical roadmap to ensure we meet our goals.
Who you are
You are a seasoned developer with at least eight years of experience who thrives in small, collaborative team environments. You possess a high level of confidence, a low ego, and a drive for continuous self-improvement. You are comfortable backing your technical decisions with data and have a sharp eye for detail.
Your technical toolkit should include:
- At least two years of production experience with Ruby on Rails or Node.js.
- A minimum of five years of production experience using React, Svelte, or Vue.
- At least one year of experience working with headless CMS platforms like Sanity or Strapi.
- Familiarity with modern tooling and frameworks such as Next.js and Vercel.
- A BEng or BSc in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- Fluency in English.
