At Causal, we are reimagining how people interact with data. We are building a platform that blends the best features of traditional spreadsheets with the power and precision of modern programming. Our mission is to make number crunching fast, collaborative, and accessible to everyone. With the backing of top-tier investors like Accel, Coatue, and Passion Capital, we are scaling our globally distributed team to help users visualize data and communicate insights with clarity.
The role
We are looking for a Product Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a mid-level position designed for someone who thrives on solving complex technical and design challenges. You will play a vital role in shaping our product, culture, and engineering standards as we continue to grow.
Core responsibilities
- Deeply understand our product and the specific needs of our customers to build intuitive solutions.
- Translate functional requirements into high-quality, performant, and well-tested code.
- Establish and refine engineering processes that ensure the long-term success and scalability of our team.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally within a Series A to Series D startup environment.
- Strong proficiency with our core frontend stack, which includes React, Redux, Apollo, and TypeScript.
- A proven ability to write clean, maintainable code while balancing the need for performance with the necessity of shipping features quickly.
- Comfort managing the full software development lifecycle, from defining product specifications to deploying to production.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
Compensation and benefits
We believe in supporting our team members both professionally and personally. Our benefits include:
- Unlimited PTO to ensure you have time to recharge.
- An equipment stipend to help you build your ideal home office.
- A monthly remote wellness stipend to cover expenses like gym memberships, co-working spaces, or daily meals.
- A generous annual learning and development budget to support your professional growth.
- Opportunities to connect with the team during our company retreats held twice a year.
How to apply
If you are ready to tackle difficult engineering and UI/UX problems while helping us build the next generation of data tools, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to our team to start a conversation about how your skills and experience align with our mission.
