Key outcomes
- Contribute as the fifth engineer to the continued development and evolution of a consumer wellness application that blends elements of gaming and mental health support.
- Lead end-to-end product initiatives, from initial concept through launch, while exercising high autonomy and rapid decision-making.
- Shape engineering practices, tools, and team norms to support a high-performing and scalable engineering organization.
- Collaborate daily with product designers, creative designers, character animators, and the founding team to deliver cohesive user experiences.
- Act as a strategic partner in refining product direction, company processes, and workplace culture.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience developing consumer-facing products in mobile or full-stack environments.
- Demonstrated product-oriented approach with the ability to evaluate trade-offs and prioritize user experience in technical decisions.
- Proven capacity to reduce risk on new initiatives, whether through rapid iteration or the creation of entirely new features, while maintaining urgency in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience designing clean, maintainable APIs that support reliable product growth.
- Track record of designing and interpreting A/B experiments, combining quantitative data with qualitative insights to guide product choices.
- Strong understanding of engineering best practices for mobile and web applications, with the ability to build scalable and dependable systems.
- Skill in clarifying complex or ambiguous problems and delivering simple, elegant solutions.
- Availability to overlap at least six hours with the coordination window of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
- Proficiency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Hands-on experience building applications with Flutter.
- Previous work on products in the wellness or gaming sectors.
