Product Engineer at Safi

You'll join Safi at an exciting moment. Our team builds AI-powered software that helps industrial recyclers of plastic and metals run their plants more profitably. We already work with one of the world's largest recycling facilities and a group that manages the entire plastic waste stream of a major developed nation, and we're backed by leading climate investors such as LowerCarbon Capital, Nosara Capital and Transition Ventures. As a Product Engineer you'll turn models and data connectors into tools that plant teams actually use every day.

What you'll be doing

• Work directly with customers at their sites to understand operations, identify high-impact improvements, and ship features that address them within one or two sprints.
• Collaborate with our machine-learning team to turn model outputs into interfaces that both forklift drivers and procurement managers can rely on.
• Partner with our product designer to create fast, scalable, and intuitive experiences while raising the quality bar for the rest of the engineering team through thoughtful code reviews and design discussions.

What you'll bring

You have led multiple user-facing projects from start to finish and can define work for others without formal management. You are comfortable with the majority of our stack-Python, Django, Django REST Framework, React, React Native, PostgreSQL and Google Cloud-and you can close any gaps quickly. You know how to monitor production systems, respond to alerts, and restore service when issues arise. At least two years of experience in a fast-shipping environment has given you strong instincts for both pace and reliability. You enjoy working with a high degree of autonomy and juggling competing priorities. You are happy to travel to customer sites or our London headquarters about once a month, and if you are remote you are within two hours of London time. English fluency is required.

What you'll get

We offer a salary range of £110,000 to £160,000 for candidates based in London, along with equity compensation.
