Product Engineer, Tech Ops at Advocate

At Advocate, we are transforming how Americans access government benefits by combining proprietary AI-powered technology with expert human care. Our mission is to drive the time between need and relief down to zero, and we have already shown that our approach works. Now we are scaling the distribution of our offering and the operations that support it. We are looking for two Product Engineers to join our Tech Ops team and help keep our systems running smoothly while building the tools that will let us grow.

What you'll be doing

• Own the End-to-End Journey Workbench, building the connectivity and insights needed to track every step of the claimant lifecycle from first contact through case closure so the team can see exactly where pipelines succeed or fail.
• Design and launch the External Claimant Portal, giving users a place to check real-time case status, submit medical evidence directly from providers, and receive critical updates without needing to call a case manager.
• Engineer the Growth Engine by creating data pipelines that trigger outbound communications, integrate with advertising platforms for accurate conversion tracking, and serve as the primary bridge between engineering and our growth team.

What you'll bring

You bring extreme ownership and a bias toward shipping, taking projects from initial idea through production success and long-term stability. You build strong relationships with internal users, treat their feedback and system data as your primary guide, and embed deep observability into every system so decisions are driven by evidence rather than guesswork. You balance new feature development with ongoing support, refactor for reliability as we grow, and thrive in a high-availability, highly collaborative environment where communication is constant and transparent. You also bring technical excellence in the age of AI, providing the architectural oversight and CS fundamentals that keep our systems scalable and maintainable.

You are fluent in English and have hands-on experience with our core stack: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Python. You are comfortable integrating LLMs into production systems, working with data pipelines and analytics tools, and maintaining observability platforms such as Sentry and PostHog. Experience with marketing and CRM integrations such as Iterable, Salesforce, and Zendesk is a plus.
