The role
We are seeking a Product Development and Merchandising Manager to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a management-level position that requires a professional with a deep background in the fine jewelry sector. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our products, ensuring that every piece meets our high standards of quality and aesthetic appeal from the initial concept through to final production.
Core responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product development process, from initial design concepts to final sample approval, while collaborating with production and quality teams to ensure manufacturing feasibility and brand alignment.
- Manage project documentation, including product trackers, pricing reports, and launch decks, while facilitating weekly meetings to provide status updates on CAD designs, costing, and sample progress.
- Stay ahead of industry shifts by conducting market research and analyzing customer feedback to inform and support the creation of new fine jewelry concepts.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in product development specifically within the fine jewelry industry, supported by a portfolio of successful product launches.
- Extensive knowledge of jewelry materials, gemology, and manufacturing techniques, including proficiency in CAD design software, PLM systems, and Excel.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle complex timelines, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain clear communication with international manufacturers.
- A deep understanding of cost analysis, pricing strategies, and current market trends.
- A systems-oriented mindset focused on streamlining operations and improving internal processes.
