At UnitedMasters, we are building a marketplace that connects artists, brands, and fans to help creators grow and earn on their own terms. We are disrupting the legacy music industry by providing a distribution platform that puts artists first, allowing them to keep ownership of their master recordings and royalties. Our team is a diverse group of musicians, storytellers, and engineers who have come together from companies like SoundCloud, Pandora, and Uber to push culture forward. We are backed by major industry leaders like Alphabet, Andreessen Horowitz, and Apple, and we are looking for someone passionate about the intersection of music and technology to join our mission.
What is this role?
We are looking for a Mid-Level Product Designer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in the United States, requiring you to be in the office three days a week and working remotely for the remaining two. You will be instrumental in shaping how independent artists interact with our platform, ensuring that our digital products are as innovative as the music they support.
What will you do?
- Lead prototyping efforts for new features, taking concepts from rough ideas to polished, interactive designs that can be tested and refined.
- Evolve and maintain our design system to ensure a consistent, high-quality experience across all our platforms while leaving room for creative innovation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and marketing, to solve complex design challenges and communicate your vision clearly to stakeholders.
What makes you a great fit?
You should have 2 to 4 years of experience in product design, ideally with a portfolio that highlights your work on complex mobile and web applications. We are looking for someone who is proficient in Figma and understands how to build and scale design systems. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where you can iterate quickly and handle ambiguity with a scrappy, proactive mindset. A background in the music or tech industries is a huge plus, as is a genuine passion for helping independent artists thrive. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will need to explain your design rationale to both technical and non-technical team members.
What's in it for you?
The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $155,000. In addition to your salary, we offer a variety of benefits to support your well-being and long-term success, including:
- Hybrid work schedule.
- 401k plan.
- Stock options.
