Product Designer at Gather AI

We are Gather AI, a robotics company founded by Carnegie Mellon PhDs who developed the world’s first provably safe autonomous helicopter. We are currently seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. Our mission is to solve critical supply chain challenges by using autonomous drones to collect warehouse inventory data. With our unique software-only approach, we help warehouses improve accuracy and efficiency in environments where manual tracking has historically failed. As we lead the charge in the new era of robotics, we are looking for a creative professional to help us shape the future of our platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process from initial low-fidelity mockups to high-fidelity prototypes, working alongside engineers and product managers to ensure our solutions are both intuitive and technically sound.
• Manage the full lifecycle of user research, including study design, data collection, and analysis, to ensure our product decisions are grounded in deep insights about our customers.
• Act as a strategic advocate for user-centered design across the company, collaborating with stakeholders to elevate our product standards and occasionally visiting customer sites to observe operations firsthand.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional product design experience, specifically with data-centric products.
• Proven ability to design effective user experiences for both desktop and iOS applications.
• A degree in a design-related field, such as Human-Computer Interaction or visual design, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present design concepts persuasively to cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
• A collaborative mindset and a genuine curiosity about how technical, social, and behavioral factors influence the overall user journey.
