The opportunity
We are searching for a dedicated Process Engineer (Downstream) to join our CMC team. In this role, you will play a vital part in designing and developing downstream processes that are both robust and scalable for our clinical and commercial manufacturing needs. You will serve as a key technical partner, working closely with our external CDMO network to ensure our processes are efficient and well-characterized. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in our Seattle office, offering you the chance to influence the future of our therapeutic pipeline while working alongside a talented, cross-disciplinary group of professionals.
A day in the life
- You will apply your expertise in purification operations, such as chromatography and viral filtration, to lead technology transfers and the successful scale-up of manufacturing processes.
- You will act as a technical guide for our external CDMO partners, providing troubleshooting support and ensuring that manufacturing activities meet our high standards for quality and efficiency.
- You will spend time in the lab performing purification tasks using AKTA systems and provide essential floor support during GMP campaigns to ensure seamless operations.
Who you are
You are a seasoned professional with a strong background in engineering or the sciences. You bring at least four years of industry experience in purification process development, characterization, or manufacturing. You possess an in-depth understanding of downstream unit operations for biologics, and you are comfortable navigating cGMP requirements, FDA guidelines, and ICH standards. You are fluent in English and excel at communicating complex technical information to diverse teams. Whether you are working independently or collaborating with cross-functional partners, you approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset and a commitment to technical excellence.
