The role
We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our CMC team on a full-time, hybrid basis. You will play a vital role in designing and developing downstream processes that are scalable, robust, and cost-effective for both clinical and commercial manufacturing. This position is based in our Seattle, WA office, and you will be expected to reside in Washington state to fulfill the requirements of this role.
Core responsibilities
- Apply your expertise in purification operations, such as chromatography, viral inactivation, and ultrafiltration, to lead technology transfers and scale-up efforts for our manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate closely with external CDMO partners to provide technical guidance, troubleshoot process issues, and ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Provide hands-on floor support and serve as a person-in-plant during development and GMP campaigns, while also performing lab-scale purification using AKTA systems.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A B.S. degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, with an M.S. or Ph.D. considered a plus.
- At least 4 years of industry experience focused on purification process development, characterization, or manufacturing.
- Deep knowledge of unit operations for biologics, including experience with cGMP requirements, FDA guidelines, and ICH standards.
- Proficiency in statistical Design of Experiments, Quality by Design principles, and the creation of technical documentation such as reports and protocols.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
Compensation and benefits
