Ambercycle is a materials company founded in 2015 with the mission of creating a circular supply chain for the apparel industry. We focus on decarbonizing raw materials by developing and deploying innovative technologies that regenerate materials for the global apparel market. Our work reduces reliance on raw agricultural and petroleum resources, providing high-quality products that exceed customer expectations while maintaining a smaller environmental footprint. We are currently seeking a Senior Process Development Engineer for a full-time, on-site role to help us scale our technologies from the laboratory to commercial production.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of equipment and processes, including process modeling, technology selection, and the creation of flowsheets from the ground up.
- Build and manage R&D and pilot-scale systems while troubleshooting and optimizing processes to ensure they function effectively at a commercial scale.
- Collaborate across our R&D, engineering, and technology teams to identify bottlenecks, implement new designs, and manage relationships with equipment vendors and engineering contractors.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience bringing technologies from concept to start-up within both large corporate and startup environments.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with engineering contractors and equipment fabricators on capital projects, alongside 2 years of direct experience with process plant construction, piloting, and operations.
- A strong technical background in separations, solids handling, and the manufacturing of chemicals or polymers.
- The ability and willingness to travel between 30% and 50% of the time, including international travel.
