Process Development Engineer at Ambercycle

We are looking for a Senior Process Development Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles, where you will help us bridge the gap between laboratory concepts and commercial-scale reality.

What you'll be doing

• You will lead the end-to-end design and implementation of new process technologies, including creating process models, selecting equipment, and overseeing the construction of pilot systems.
• You will act as a bridge between our R&D, engineering, and technology teams to troubleshoot bottlenecks and ensure that our lab-scale innovations successfully transition into efficient, large-scale production.
• You will manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and engineering firms while driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize our manufacturing workflows.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in chemical, materials, or mechanical engineering. We are looking for someone who possesses the following qualifications:

• At least 4 years of experience taking technologies from the initial concept phase through to commercial start-up.
• Proficiency in process modeling and simulation software, such as ASPEN, along with the ability to generate detailed flowsheets and P&IDs.
• Deep expertise in unit operations, particularly regarding separations, solids handling, and polymer manufacturing.
• A hands-on approach to problem-solving and the ability to travel internationally for up to 50% of your time to support our facilities and projects.
• Fluency in English to ensure clear communication across our internal and external teams.
