Principal Systems Engineer Storage at Agile-defense

We are looking for a Principal Systems Engineer (Storage) to join our team in Pocatello, ID, Clarksburg, WV, or Huntsville, AL, where you will play a key role in designing and maintaining the storage infrastructure that powers our operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, test, and patch enterprise-grade storage systems, including SAN, NAS, local disk, Fibre Channel, and iSCSI environments.
• Manage high-availability storage networking equipment and support file storage protocols such as SMB/CIFS and NFS.
• Oversee Windows-based storage access, including Active Directory integration, NTFS security, and Distributed File System (DFS) management.
• Execute data migrations using tools like Robocopy and rsync while maintaining a methodical approach to minimize downtime.
• Integrate systems with Windows and Linux environments and implement multi-factor authentication solutions.
• Provide detailed documentation of system configurations, inventory, and patch levels.
• Mentor government staff on industry best practices and provide real-time reporting on storage utilization and performance trends.

Must-haves

• At least 10 years of professional experience in storage administration.
• An active Top-Secret Clearance with the ability to maintain a CI Polygraph.
• Strong understanding of storage concepts including RAID, tiering, data deduplication, replication, and host multipathing.
• Experience with virtualization platforms, specifically VMware vSphere, vCenter, and vSAN.
• Proficiency in POSIX and Windows file system permissions.
• The ability to work on-site five days per week.

Nice-to-haves

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Advanced storage vendor certifications.
• Experience managing mainframe storage systems using FICON protocols.
• Familiarity with specific enterprise storage solutions such as Pure Storage, DellEMC, NetApp, Hitachi, or Cohesity.
