We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our remote team and take a technical lead role in managing our high-volume, low-latency ad server that processes billions of requests every day.

Key outcomes

• Lead the technical direction for our ad server, applying your architectural and coding expertise to solve large-scale challenges.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and technical operations teams to create and refine our high-availability runtime platform.
• Take ownership of multiple subsystems within our infrastructure and manage all phases of the software development life cycle.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to the continuous review and scoping of future projects.
• Provide production support and assist in the creation of technical specifications for the Viant DSP.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of professional experience within the software industry.
• Strong proficiency in the Go programming language or deep, relevant experience in the AdTech domain.
• Fluency in English to facilitate effective collaboration across internal teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-volume systems.

Preferred qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing and delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Practical knowledge of modern programming languages.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server, including writing complex SQL.
• Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, with a preference for AWS or GCP.
