A quick snapshot…
We are looking for a talented Principal Software Engineer-UI to help us build the next-gen Conga products and help lead the platform-level design, development, and implementation of critical business enterprise applications. You will help the team Influence, develop and code the design system, UI patterns ensuring usability, aesthetic standards, and brand integrity, working closely with the UX team. You will have and understanding of end-to-end user experience and consistency across product design and development.

As a Principal Software Engineer with strong React or other JS Frameworks knowledge and front-end development skills, you will have the opportunity to build innovative, high-performance web applications and design systems. The ideal candidate possesses deep front-end development expertise, driving technical excellence and mentoring junior developers while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences. You should be able to support the lead Architect and team with strategic directions.
You will work collaboratively with the team and mentor your peers, explaining your designs, code, and testing with clarity that elevates everyone in our organization. This collaborative approach ensures that Conga’s code is not just high-quality, but a benchmark for excellence in the industry.
Operating at the Principal Engineer level, you will play a pivotal role in the entire department by driving meaningful change across teams. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of our products and the success of our team.
Are you the person we’re looking for?
Related experience. You should have more than 7+ years of experience in UI development and a deep understanding of the browser ecosystem and its inner workings.
Front-end Technologies. Design, develop, and maintain complex web applications using React or other JS Framework, ensuring adherence to modern development standards and understand how to use and code design systems. You should have expert knowledge of Front-End development technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, JS Frameworks (Angular, React), CSS abstraction (Less, SASS), package bundlers (webpack).
Web Technology Stack. Understand the web technology stack and have expert knowledge of Front-End development technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, JS Frameworks (Angular, react etc.), CSS abstraction (Less, SASS etc.), package bundlers (Webpack etc) and task runners (Grunt/Gulp etc.) and professional best practices for Software Development Life Cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous integration, build processes, testing, and operations. Rock solid grip on JavaScript. Fluent in the applicability of object-oriented design patterns.
Education. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
Soft skills. Mentor and support junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Experience in communicating clearly with users, peer teams and project management. Superior problem-solving and coding ability in multiple programming languages. Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure alignment with best practices. Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance application efficiency.
Innovation. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, driving innovation within the team.
Documentation. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for architectural designs, coding standards, and development processes.
Differentiating Skills. Have you worked on multiple web app frameworks and created reusable libraries/frameworks? Familiar with functional programming practices. Experience with creating visual editing tools. Understanding of Web Component technology. Have experience with Python, C# etc. Prior experience with Salesforce PaaS and CRM.
