About the Role

We are hiring a Principal Software Engineer on a Full Time basis. In this senior-level position you will guide our third-party data strategy and lead the technical direction of the integrations that feed our AI and analytics capabilities. You will work remotely and partner closely with multiple scrum teams to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure that supports our mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical leader for a scrum team, driving quality, scalability, and speed to market for our third-party integration infrastructure.
• Lead cross-team planning for complex features that span several scrum teams while championing technical excellence across the engineering organization.
• Mentor engineers, improve software quality through guidance and sponsorship, and act as the subject-matter expert on Forward’s software ecosystem.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in agile software development with deep expertise in at least one modern programming language such as Golang, Python, or Java.
• Significant experience providing technical leadership, mentorship, and sponsorship within engineering teams.
• Proven ability to design and implement complex systems across multiple applications and languages, along with demonstrated project-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, maturity, ownership, and a passion for continuous learning in the software industry.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
