The role

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, hybrid basis. This is a lead-level position for someone who thrives in the early stages of product development. You will have the opportunity to guide a team while remaining hands-on with the code, helping us build high-quality, consumer-oriented healthcare software. Our hubs are located in San Francisco, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Chicago, Nashville, and Philadelphia, and you may be based in any of these locations.

Core responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers in architecting, building, and maintaining a large-scale, consumer-facing application while serving as the technical owner for key product areas.
• Partner closely with product managers and designers to translate user needs into detailed technical requirements and robust system architectures.
• Mentor team members, facilitate Agile processes like sprint planning and retrospectives, and drive high standards for code quality through reviews and automated testing.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should bring a strong background in software engineering and a desire to work with modern technologies. We require the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience and certifications.
• At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, including 2 years in a team lead role within an Agile environment.
• Deep professional experience with React, TypeScript, and Go, alongside experience building Cloud Native applications on AWS.
• Proficiency with gRPC, version control systems like Git, and the ability to communicate complex technical plans across teams.
• Experience with Ent, Serverless Framework, and knowledge of healthcare standards like FHIR are considered significant assets.

Compensation and benefits

We offer a base salary range of $144,500 to $195,500 USD, with final compensation determined by your experience and location. In addition to salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and long-term success:
