At Monterey Technologies, Inc., we specialize in human-centered systems engineering to design and build complex, critical systems. We focus on understanding the human dimension to improve performance and reduce life cycle costs for our clients, and we are currently looking for a Principal Software Engineer to help us drive these technical solutions.

Responsibilities

Design and build both front-end and back-end software based on specific project requirements and models.
Plan development tasks involving Java services, thin-client UIs, HTML5, REST and SOAP web services, SQL databases, and Linux environments.
Perform thorough code reviews and technical analysis.
Oversee the maintenance of local and cloud-based development environments.
Contribute to the creation of software development strategies for new project proposals.
Create software to manage hardware command and control, including interface integration and acknowledgment handling.
Build tools for activity planning and mission constraint checking.
Develop sophisticated visualizations for dynamic environments, incorporating decision tools and user-centric interface designs.

Must-haves

Current U.S. citizenship, as required by our government contracts.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance.
A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
At least 10 years of professional experience in a software engineering role.
Proficiency with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Redux.
Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

A master's degree in a relevant field.
Over 5 years of experience working in a full-stack development environment.
