The role

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an executive-level position based in India that operates under a hybrid work model. In this role, you will act as a technical leader with a strong product mindset, helping us build and maintain our flagship Corda platform. You will work across a multidisciplinary team to design end-to-end distributed services that underpin the global financial system.

Core responsibilities

• Design and implement highly complex software using Kotlin within the Corda ecosystem while guiding other teams on how to best leverage your developments.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor for other engineers, helping them refine their approach to solving complex technical problems.
• Contribute to the long-term technical direction and strategic vision of our engineering efforts while collaborating with product management to align technical delivery with client needs.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, ideally with a background in building SaaS or platform products.
• Deep expertise in high-level programming languages such as Java or Kotlin.
• Proven ability to design and develop distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with hands-on experience diagnosing and debugging deployed systems.
• Experience working effectively within cross-disciplinary teams and interacting with various parts of a global organization.
