Picture a team that has quietly powered more than a billion dollars in clean-energy projects each year, giving homeowners across the country an easier path to solar, batteries, and efficient heating and cooling. At GoodLeap we build the technology behind those projects, and our loan and lease servicing platform sits at the heart of everything we do.
The opportunity
As our next Principal Software Engineer you will shape the long-term technical direction of that platform. Your work will define how millions of monthly transactions are processed securely and reliably, directly supporting the rapid growth of sustainable home solutions and the mission of our nonprofit partner, GivePower.
A day in the life
- You lead architecture reviews and design sessions that turn high-level business goals into concrete, scalable service blueprints using .NET and cloud-native patterns.
- You pair with product managers and engineering leads to break down complex regulatory or performance requirements into phased deliverables that teams can build and release with confidence.
- You mentor senior and mid-level engineers through code walkthroughs, design critiques, and thoughtful feedback that raises the bar for quality across the organization.
Who you are
You bring at least ten years of software engineering experience and have spent a significant portion of that time designing and operating large-scale, resilient service platforms. Deep expertise with .NET and C# is essential, along with hands-on experience building distributed systems on Azure, AWS, or GCP. You are fluent in microservices, event-driven design, SQL and NoSQL data modeling, CI/CD automation, and the security practices expected in financial services. Clear communication, cross-functional influence, and a track record of mentoring engineers are equally important. English fluency is required, and prior work with loan or lease servicing systems is a plus.
Why you'll love it here
You will join a mission-driven company whose platform has already facilitated more than twenty-seven billion dollars in sustainable financing. Our hybrid work model gives you the flexibility to balance focused individual work with meaningful in-person collaboration. You will have the autonomy to make high-impact technical decisions, the support of engaged leadership, and the satisfaction of seeing your systems enable cleaner homes and communities every day.
