What you bring
We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a senior role focused on building data-intensive systems, and you will be expected to provide architectural direction while executing on a large product surface area. This position is based in the United States and operates in a hybrid work mode, requiring regular in-office days in downtown San Francisco. Your core responsibilities include:
- Expanding our large-scale number crunching systems that power our core marketing attribution algorithms.
- Developing sustainable, creative solutions to ingest and process diverse data types from various sources like S3, SFTP, and email.
- Designing and scaling customer-facing APIs to streamline onboarding and data connectivity for our clients.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a product-minded engineer with at least 8 years of software development experience. You must be an expert in Python and SQL. We require at least 2 years of experience working specifically within adtech or web analytics systems, as well as 2 years of experience focused on data-intensive analytics products. You should have a strong grasp of Linux and Unix systems, cloud infrastructure primitives, and distributed data processing tools like BigQuery, Snowflake, Hadoop, or Spark. We value candidates who possess a growth mindset, an ownership mentality, and the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A degree in Computer Science or Engineering, along with experience in container technologies like Docker or Kubernetes, is highly desirable.
