Truveta is the world’s first health provider-led data platform, dedicated to the mission of saving lives through data. We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our mission-driven team as we build large-scale data processing platforms that empower researchers and clinicians to find cures and improve patient care. While we were founded in the Pacific Northwest, our team operates on a hybrid model with the flexibility to work from anywhere in the country.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain large-scale distributed systems and complex ETL data pipelines.
- Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, testing, deployment, and performance tuning.
- Partner with clinical informaticists, product managers, and architects to solve technical challenges in the healthcare space.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to guide team workstreams.
- Apply creative problem-solving to ensure our systems can process healthcare data at an unprecedented scale.
Must-haves
- At least 10 years of professional experience developing production-grade services on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working with distributed systems or large-scale data architecture.
- Proficiency in data-focused programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Strong communication skills in English and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, distributed team environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies, including Spark, Kubernetes, and cloud-native data warehousing solutions.

The base salary range for this position is $192,000 to $240,000, depending on your skills, experience, and location.
