Principal Software Engineer Core Blockchain at Shardeum Foundation

The role

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our core blockchain team. This is a full-time, remote leadership position designed for a highly talented and innovative engineer. You will take on a technical leadership role, guiding complex blockchain projects and contributing to the development of our consensus and protocol layers. We are looking for a persistent problem solver who is dedicated to building high-quality, reliable software that will help us scale our network to thousands of node operators.

Core responsibilities

• Provide technical structure to our engineering teams and collaborate with stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps for our layer 1 blockchain projects.
• Take end-to-end ownership of critical software components, including the design and development of innovative consensus and protocol software.
• Mentor and train team members on design techniques, coding standards, and blockchain fundamentals to ensure high-quality output across the board.

Skills and experience

• Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex blockchain components.
• Strong fluency in algorithms and data structures, with the ability to write clean, efficient code.
• Proficiency in our core tech stack, which includes NodeJS, TypeScript, SQLite, Postgres, React, and VueJS.
• Experience working within Linux, Git, AWS, and Docker environments.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI development tools and a proven ability to integrate them into your daily workflow.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in an environment that often requires navigating ambiguity.
