Role at a glance
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer - Architecture to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This is a lead-level position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States, with the exception of Hawaii. You will play a pivotal role in designing the systems that allow us to scale our impact and improve the lives of millions of patients and providers.
Your impact
- Define and execute the long-term technical architecture for our core platform to ensure it remains scalable, secure, and highly reliable.
- Mentor and guide our engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and high-quality craftsmanship.
- Collaborate across product and engineering departments to align our technical roadmap with our broader business strategy.
What you'll need
To succeed in this role, you should be a seasoned engineer with a passion for distributed systems and technical leadership. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 10 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a deep focus on backend technologies.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, such as a Staff or Principal Engineer, supporting an organization of 25 to 50 or more engineers.
- Expertise in cloud technologies and service-oriented architecture.
- A strong grasp of how to build for security, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to influence stakeholders across both technical and non-technical teams.
