Quanterix is advancing precision health by digitizing biomarker analysis. Its Simoa technology gives researchers an ultra-sensitive method for measuring biomarkers, supporting earlier disease detection and more precise treatment strategies across oncology, neurology, cardiology, inflammation, and infectious disease. We are seeking a Principal Software Developer to join our Software Engineering team at our Billerica, Massachusetts headquarters. In this senior, full-time, on-site role you will guide the architecture and development of object-oriented software that powers image-analysis workflows for multiplexed immunofluorescence samples.
Key outcomes
- Own the architecture and development of high-level image analysis code that processes samples and generates user-facing reports.
- Design and implement a complete image-analysis workflow, including image viewing and report generation, for multiplexed immunofluorescence applications.
- Coordinate with hardware engineers, R&D scientists, product support, and project managers to document features, triage defects, and prioritize work using our feature and defect tracking systems.
- Lead and participate in code and design reviews, ensuring software quality across multiple platforms and lab environments.
- Coordinate development activities with contract resources and provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior software developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
- 10–15 years of hands-on experience developing object-oriented software in C++, C#, .NET, Java, and JavaScript.
- Strong command of Windows 10 and Linux operating systems.
- Proficiency in English for technical communication.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as CSS, HTML, React, or Angular.
- Background in cloud-based software development.
- Familiarity with Oracle PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of Intel’s Math Kernel Library (MKL) and image-processing techniques.
- Experience with the Swing library in Java.
- Understanding of computational calculation methods.
- Experience with Jira or equivalent bug-tracking tools.
- Exposure to the diagnostic or biotech industry and familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
