We are looking for a Principal Software Architect to lead the technical direction of our crowdsourced testing platform, helping modernize core systems and integrate practical AI capabilities across a fully remote team.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and deploy scalable, production-grade services that support our intelligent testing solutions.
- Define clear architectural standards and patterns that guide the transition from a monolithic codebase to modular services.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership on frontend framework consolidation to improve performance and observability.
- Design systems with security, cost-efficiency, and ISO 27001 compliance in mind.
- Embed secure AI and LLM patterns into customer-facing features while establishing operational guardrails.
- Advise executive, product, and engineering teams on technical tradeoffs and translate business goals into actionable strategies.
Must-haves
- 15 or more years of hands-on experience developing cloud-native, business-critical platforms.
- Advanced expertise in distributed systems, data modeling, event-driven design, and both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Proven success migrating monolithic applications to modular, service-based architectures.
- Deep experience building secure, highly available, and cost-optimized infrastructure on AWS.
- Strong familiarity with modern frontend frameworks, scripting languages, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical experience deploying production-grade AI, ML, or LLM solutions with a focus on safety and observability.
- Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex architecture to business stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while proactively owning problems.
- Strong collaboration skills to guide distributed engineering teams without formal authority.
- Comfort working asynchronously across time zones in a fully remote setting.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience presenting technical strategies to executive and cross-functional leaders.
- Background in regulated environments or compliance-driven development.
Benefits
- 100% remote work open to candidates in the Eastern half of the United States.
- Flexible hours that support sustainable pacing and work-life balance.
- Stock options that allow you to share in company growth.
- $300 annual learning budget for personal and professional development.
- Flexible paid time off, including national holidays, personal days, and sick days.
