The role

We are seeking a Principal Mobile Engineer to serve as the most senior technical leader for our mobile platform. This is a full-time, remote position for a highly experienced professional who will act as a force multiplier for our engineering team. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager and take ownership of the long-term vision and technical strategy for our mobile ecosystem, which spans both iOS and Android. This role is perfect for a seasoned architect who enjoys hands-on development, mentoring senior talent, and solving complex technical challenges.

Core responsibilities

• Define and own the long-term technical architecture for our React Native platform to ensure it remains scalable, maintainable, and performant.
• Lead efforts to optimize mobile performance and stability by establishing best practices and proactively eliminating bottlenecks.
• Partner with our Platform Engineering group to improve the developer experience, focusing on build times, CI/CD pipelines, and release cycles.

Skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience with a strong background in architecting large-scale mobile applications.
• Expert-level proficiency in React Native and Expo, alongside deep knowledge of native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) ecosystems.
• Proven mastery of mobile architecture, including state management, navigation, and functional programming principles.
• Extensive experience with mobile performance optimization, crash reporting, and observability tools like Datadog or Sentry.
• A track record of mentoring senior engineers and driving technical roadmaps through clear communication.

Compensation and benefits

The annual salary range for this position is 180,000 USD to 210,000 USD. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package:
