At JITX, we are fundamentally changing how circuit boards are designed by introducing a code-first approach. Our team of about 20 people is building tools that allow engineers to define hardware using code or AI, effectively bringing modern software engineering practices into the world of electronics. The role

We are seeking a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a lead-level position where you will take full ownership of significant product areas, driving technical direction and making architectural decisions that will influence how electrical engineers interact with our platform for years to come. This role is available as a hybrid position, and we are open to candidates working from anywhere.

Core responsibilities

• Architect and implement major product systems, starting with our user and license management platform, before transitioning to critical core runtime components.
• Identify technical debt and propose scalable solutions, driving consensus across the team to ensure we are building for the long term.
• Serve as a technical mentor and force multiplier, raising the bar for engineering standards through rigorous code reviews and the establishment of best practices.

Skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong background in software architecture and a passion for solving complex computational problems. We value candidates who can work across the entire stack with confidence and clarity.

• Extensive experience in full stack development using TypeScript, React, and Python.
• Deep understanding of algorithmic problem-solving, including complexity analysis, graph and tree data structures, and computational efficiency.
• A proven track record of owning large, complex features from the initial planning phase through to production.
• Strong ability to translate stakeholder requirements into robust system designs and technical solutions.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment where self-direction is key.
• Bonus points for experience with graphics libraries like PixiJS or Three.js, database management with PostgreSQL or MongoDB, and familiarity with hardware or CAD tools.
