Principal Front End Engineer at Peerspace

What is this role?

We are looking for a Principal Front End Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is an executive-level position perfect for a seasoned developer with over a decade of software experience. You will be a key player in shaping our front-end stack, which relies heavily on React, Redux, Next.js, Node, and NGINX. If you are passionate about high design fidelity and building beautiful user experiences, you will fit right in with our culture of mentorship and continuous improvement.

What will you do?

• Architect efficient, reusable front-end systems that power our complex web applications while refining the development practices used across our entire product.
• Provide technical leadership to an agile scrum team, partnering closely with product and design leads to deliver high-quality features.
• Mentor fellow engineers, conduct thorough code reviews, and drive initiatives to improve our standard web metrics and overall application performance.

What makes you a great fit?

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 10 years of software development experience, with at least 5 of those years focused on front-end work using React and micro front-ends. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with the following:

• Optimizing front-end implementations for SEO.
• Developing advanced web caching strategies and utilizing CDNs.
• Implementing experimentation and A/B testing.
• Working in an open, collaborative environment where you can mentor others and share modular, extensible code.
• Communicating fluently in English.

It is a bonus if you have a background in start-up environments, strong user empathy, and a keen eye for design.
