What we are building

Engineering Architect shoulders both technical and managerial responsibilities, acting as a liaison between the engineering team, Product Management and upper management while ensuring the successful execution of technical projects. This role demands a strong technical background, leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to balance multiple priorities.

What your impact will be

• Strategic Vision: Translate knowledge of the state of the art in AI/ML into a vision for Domino capabilities that advance business goals. Distill industry trends and knowledge of customer use cases into new features that position Domino as leader in the AI/ML space
• Product Roadmap: Collaborate with Product Leads to develop Product Roadmap, proposing key features/capabilities based on strategic technical vision
• Technical Guidance: Providing technical expertise, guidance, and mentorship to the teams. This involves assisting team members in problem-solving, reviewing code, and ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards. Enforce a strong alignment to the vision or define a path to achieve that vision
• Architectural Decision Making: Evolve the Domino architecture and platform to best support the strategic vision for new projects/features, making informed decisions about technologies, frameworks, and tools to be used
• Project Planning and Execution: Collaborating with engineering managers and stakeholders to define project scope, create timelines, and set realistic goals. Ensuring that technical objectives align with overall project goals and deadlines
• Team Collaboration: Facilitating communication and collaboration within the team and across teams. Encouraging knowledge sharing, fostering a positive work environment, and resolving conflicts or issues that arise among team members
• Code Reviews and Quality Assurance: Conducting regular code reviews to maintain code quality, readability, and scalability. Implementing or overseeing testing strategies to ensure robustness and reliability of Domino
• Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and challenges in the project early on and taking necessary steps to mitigate them. This could involve assessing technical debt, scalability issues, or security vulnerabilities.
• Stakeholder Interaction: Engaging with stakeholders, including key customers, to gather requirements, provide updates on technical progress, and address any technical concerns or queries they might have

What we look for in this role

• Worked leading and defining the architecture of complex successful products
• Deep expertise in AI/ML, the ecosystem, and experience working in similar or relevant products in the space
• Worked on large teams and managed multiple dependencies to deliver ground breaking functionality 
• Provided strong technical leadership, steering the product roadmap enabling new groundbreaking capabilities 
• Have worked in complex highly regulated environments and understand the challenges imposed by those places and what are the tradeoffs we need to make to be successful 
• Delivered complex products to the cloud and on-premise 
• Data science and computer science background
• Work in a dynamic environment managing multiple priorities
• Curious mindset and quickly able to grasp new technologies 
• Be able to think in a 3-5 year timeframe to define an architecture and domain model, and be able to lead the team's executions to make incremental progress
• Be able to engage engineers, managers, product managers, leaders, executives and customers 
• Strong leadership and can do attitude 
• Strong product and customer first mindset
• Strong understanding of the AI/ML, with a bread of tools and technologies in this rapidly evolving space
• Excellent presentation and communication skills to target from engineer, data scientist and executive level audiences 
• K8s, Cloud Native, AWS, Azure, GCP and on-premise
• Domain Driven Design and strong design principles
• Strong development experience in multiple languages like Java, Scala, Go, etc.
